Funny thing is I met my wife at a dance competition (I won of course) wwaaayyy back in the early 90's (funny that was almost 20 years ago now). My friend and I were hip hop/break dancers and my wife's dance squad (visiting from Seattle) were judging.

In a precompetition warm up circle I took a turn and started to freestyle (showing off for my wife, whom I hadn't met yet, and her friend) and broke into a spin. Now to preface this, I had been fighting a cold for a week before and was starting to clear up...but my nose was still running badly. While spinning, I was tracking my head so not to get dizzy when snot flew from my nose and landed on Aly's mouth (I hadn't met her yet). Her and her friends freaked out and ran to the bathroom and I was totally embarrassed.

When they finally emerged from the bathroom, I came up, stuck out my hand and said: "Hi, my name is Eric Statler...I'm sooo sorry!!!". Thankfully back then I was very cute (and modest) and we ended up winning the competition by an easy stretch. Aly and her friends hung out with me and my friend and we slowly became really good friends. 3 years later we started dating, 13 years after that we've been married for almost 10 years and have two children. The power of snot...and dancing.

Anyway, I love dancing, did it professionally for a few years out of high school. Sadly I let myself get too muscular to do much of the stuff I used to do but maybe now I can start to get back into "dance shape".

On another note...my PET scan was today and I'm dancing with NED! I cried when my old friend Jakki (who was at the dance off and who also works for my ENT) called and delivered the wonderful news that my scan looked so good that my ENT didn't even need to see me and all of my hotspots are now showing norm! I cried...but they were manly tears, like when the Bo Sox took the series or Seattle's Refuse to Lose season or when I met Clint Eastwood (kidding).

Happy day here, NED and I hope to be dancing for a long time...finally a partner my wife doesn't have issues with smile
Thanks for all the support guys, manly love out!

Eric

OK I'm just one vote here but I say Eric's not to be included in any dance routines if he has the sniffles.

That is GREAT news Eric!!! Congratulations. I bet you are so relieved. Wonderful story on how you met your wife. Have you told your kids this story? They will get a kick out of it I'm sure.

I vote with David....Eric doesn't get to dance when he has the sniffles. And David, your wife's purple wig will work just fine! I think we should start our road show in Idaho in honor of Eric.

Hugs to all of you,

Shelley
