I am told because of the positionng of this tumor I will need a total glossectomy, feeding tube for life and most likely a total laryngectomy. I have lots of questions but I can't see to find someone that has all these procedures. I am still not sure that if my larynx is cancer clear why they feel I should still have the laryngectomy to avoid accidental choking and pnuemonia. Please if anyone can shed light on what I am facing I would be most grateful. This is my second time around. Two years ago I had SCC in the neck, which was removed, followed by radiation. I look forward to learning from you all, and sharing my experience. I can't believe we have two new members both facing total glossectomy and a total largectomy both from Texas. Anyway, I am not going to respond twice. Please see my update in the Jason post which I'm about to make.
Take care, Eileen
