It helps the responder to your Post if you include facts about your Diagnosis and Treatment, etc under your Signature. See mine below as an example. To add to your signature go to the top of the screen and click on MY PROFILE. Then click on EDIT PROFILE and scroll down to the Signature Block and type away. Once you add it, It appears every post you make and your questions and even responses are more understandable.

Apr 2014 & 15, Spun for 9 straight hrs to raise $$ for YMCA's Livestrong Program. Certified Spin Instructor Jun 2014.

Another way to paraphrase what David is saying is that there are only a handful of us who respond to peoples questions and it can be time consuming to search through their previous posts to find out their treatment details, which can dramatically alter the suggestions or help we can give. It's not a "badge of courage" more than "hey I can relate to this person as I am having a similar treatment plan (or Dx) and maybe they can help me" or the other way around, with sharing their experience, strength and hope..
Almost everyone who is a responder here is a patient or caregiver and freely volunteer their time.
Even Donald Trump can't buy more time...

As I posted and Gary explained it helps responders when answering a question asked and it also saves the asker by not having to retype their details every time they ask a question. For instance we see a lot of questions like " I have just been told I have cancer what can I expect from my treatment?". The responder who wants to volunteer their time to answer must then reply with many questions and wait for the details. Having that general info available for all to see when questions are asked saves everyone valuable time. It even helps to have the responders' details when they answer a question as other responders will know from what perspective their answer was given.
Certaintly there is no requirement to post one's details and I never intended my post to suggest that. Like all of us that take our time to try to help people who are asking for it, we can only give our best advice when we know all the facts.
