Well came back good ..no cancer in the tonsils ..just bad and chronic infections he said ! So now I heal from this and have the teeth removed and physical and speach therapy and back to work i go !!

However I do have a question for all of you who had the tonsilectomy ..how long before you felt better..LOL I am one who wants to feel better right away !! ANd having some difficulty breathing my tongue is pretty swollen again. More so when I am sleeping I have to breathe through my mouth for some weird reason ..which doesn't help with the dry mouth issues..oh well Just curious...I am very hungry and italian ice and popsicles are not filling ..LOL Ice cream makes alot of thick mucassy phlem...sooooooo i tried soup yuck.... ANyhow I should lose a few lbs right !

Thanks for sharing that great news. No advice on the tonsils as it has been decades since I had mine out. I'm sure you'll be swamped with advice.

Don't sweat the extractions, you've been through a lot worse already.

Retired Dentist, 59 years old at diagnosis. SCC of the left lateral border of the tongue (Stage I). Partial glossectomy and 30 nodes removed, 4/6/05. Nodes all clear. No chemo no radiation 18 year survivor.

I had my tonsils out two years ago and it took about two weeks to feel better, but once my throat got past a certain point, it got better very quickly. And now that they are gone, I feel so much better! It was worth the pain.

I hope today you are feeling better. So sorry you are having a rough go of it. Thanks for the e-mail. Just remember, your getting close to being "almost done". On Sundays my wife and I watch a minister named Joel Osteen on TV. See what channel he's on and check him out. His Sunday service is on 4x on Sunday, then re-played throughout the week. He's a complete 180 degree's from a Benny Hinn type and very inspiring. smile
