She started out 2002, due to the extent of taking out to much of her flapper which prevent the food going into her lungs, has had the food tube in from day 1. My cancer started in 2005 so Mary Pat was of great help and support to me. A few months ago they found 3 small tumors in her lung, removed them, gave her a good out look, but it has come back in her lungs, this time tumor is growing outside the lung into her spine, along with several other in her lung. At present they are making another mask so they can radiate the tumor on her lung in hopes to releave the pressure on the spine. She just got back from a trip from Spain, and is making plans for another one in Aug. Her attitude towards beating this is never give up. I have met alot of people along this walk with cancer, but I have never met a woman with such courage. I wanted to share how she is coping with all this with all of you. Im having a hard time coping with what she going threw.

Mary Pat is trooper for sure, definitely hardcore, and an inspiration to all! I have read many, many stories here. And in my book, everyone here is a trooper. The worse the case, the harder they fight. I think the people here give new meaning to the word Courage, and it already has many meanings. In the movie "Star Man", when the alien is leaving he says: (this is not verbatim) What he observed and said about humans was "You Are At Your Best, When Things Are At Their Worst"! Even thogh this was a sci-Fi,I believe that observation to be correct! Thanks for sharing. PeteyB
