I have been reading alot about others who have had dilations of their esophagus. Well, my father went in yesterday to have this done and they couldn't do it because they said the esophagus was too constricted and he would need another procedure where two doctors go in an try to open the esophagus up. One goes in from the stomach and one from the throat. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has info on this procedure and if you could recommend anyone in the Chicago area who has performed these surgeries. We may be looking for a second opinion. We just want to make sure we are at the best place for him. I'm sure he needs this procedure because at this point he cannot swallow anything, even sips of water. Thanks.
