I don't know if my experience will help or not, but here it goes. I've had a PEG in for about 10 weeks, however, I haven't used it yet. Several weeks after I had it in, it started hurting, and the doctor gave me some antibiotics. Which helped a great deal.
After thinking about what was going on with my PEG, I decided to tape my PEG up tightly to my stomach. I don't buy special gause, I just cut 1/2 way through. I use cloth or paper tape, as my skin reacts to Latex tape. I do not let the tube dangle as I believe this caused the problem in the first place. I tape the tubing also. This keeps it from getting sore from twisting and also from sleeping on my stomach. I've not had any problems since.
I hope this helps. Sandy
