Hi All,
I guess we take our milestones wherever we find them. I'm rapidly approaching the two year mark and had my follow up earlier this week. It was the usual two day extravaganza at MDACC, but this time with a little bump. My monitoring protocol is different from most due to the final disposition of my tumor...I get ultrasounds rather than Pet scans or CT scans. Generally, they are read immediately and I'm sent on my merry way with the final reading by my doc the next day. This time, I had just escaped the clinic after the ultrasound when my cell rang and the technician was asking me back for a few more photos. She said it was "nothing worrisome" but you know, after you've heard those cancer words, any change in routine is worrisome. Didn't help either when the clerk upon my return asked if I was back for a biopsy. Turns out they just need a few more views to match pictures they had from my last visit.
Ultimately, the scans looked good. The rest of my exam went well and I've been upgraded, lol, to 6 month appointments. Means I'll miss my 2 year anniversary in April but I plan on celebrating anyway.
Susan
