hi gary, are you taking decadron as an after chemo/cisplatin anti-nausea med? my hubby, mike, was to take decadron 8mgs x2 a day for 4 days following chemo. after mentioning the hiccups to his MO, the decadron was reduced to 4mgs x2 a day for 2 days (lucky for mike he tolerated the chemo very well). this reduction in meds didn't cure the hiccups, but reduced them greatly.

i also read that hiccups can be a side effect of emend (another anti-nausea med). so while the cisplatin may be the culprit, the anti-nausea meds also play into this side effect.

best advice we can share is be aware of your meds & keep your MO appraised of your health & comfort cause "everyone is different" & there are numerous meds available that can be tailored to help relieve your symptoms.

take good care, judy
