There is no added spices so its soothing to the mouth and throat. If having swallowing problems, can omit the bread and cheese.
1 small can beef broth 4 cups water 1 tablespoon beef boulion or beef soup base 1 x-large sweet vildallia onion 1 piece of bread toasted a few slices provolone cheese
slice/chop the vildalia onion into small pieces and sautee (in margerine or butter or little oil) until starts turning brown
combine with broth, boullion, water and simmer slowly
turn on your oven broiler on HI to heat up a few minutes
ladle soup into heavy soup bowl or crock and place piece of toast on top. fan out provolone cheese over top of toast. place into broiler and watch closely. as soon as the cheese starts to turn brown remove from broiler
its just like what you get in restaurants without added spices to burn your mouth all measurements are very approximate ChristineSCC 6/15/07 L chk & by L molar both Stag I, age44 2x cispltn-35 IMRT end 9/27/07 -65 lbs in 2 mo, no caregvr Clear PET 1/08 4/4/08 recur L chk Stag I surg 4/16/08 clr marg 215 HBO dives 3/09 teeth out, trismus 7/2/09 recur, Stg IV 8/24/09 trach, ND, mandiblctmy 3wks medicly inducd coma 2 mo xtended hospital stay, ICU & burn unit PICC line IV antibx 8 mo 10/4/10, 2/14/11 reconst surg OC 3x in 3 years very happy to be alive | | |
