Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 8,311 | Either you misunderstood them which is normal for most of us at the beginning or they don't know what they are doing. Either way, get to the bottom. IMPT (Proton Therapy) is used for hard to reach tumors in delicate areas like the brain for example where the beam acts like a smart bomb killing only the targeted tumor. IMRT (Radiation Therapy) is most often used for Oral Cancers where a much broader area can be targeted with minimal damage to the surrounding good tissue as compared to the older method RT.

Apr 2014 & 15, Spun for 9 straight hrs to raise $$ for YMCA's Livestrong Program. Certified Spin Instructor Jun 2014.
