Welcome to the OC site. It's best if you start your own thread but I'll answer this post quickly. There are a few things that could cause a sore in your mouth and if it's been there for a couple of weeks you should have it looked at by an ENT. The only way to determine if it's cancer is to do a biopsy and that would only be done if the doctor felt it was necessary. That's the short answer but if you don't feel like your questions are being resolved get a second opinion.
