I dont have advice on how to clean the formula. My advice is to talk to your doc or better yet one of your nurses. They can replace the tip part of the peg tube very easily. I just had mine replaced with one that will stay closed better. It seems when you close the tab, it kinda locks in place. Mine points down too and I havent had any problems with the new one. The old one leaked sometimes so I was constantly changing my clothes and doing laundry too.
