That would be kind of unusual. Typically SCC in the lung is a distant metastesis from the primary, which was probably the BOT.

As you read most H&N cancers originate in the throat and metastesize to the other parts of the respiratory system and other organs, liver, brain, kidneys, as well.

Was she a smoker? She may have a different cancer in the lung. Do they have a positive biopsy for SCC?

Is she being Dx'd at a CCC? If not, I would find one pronto.
