Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts) Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 2,019 | I have been taking the generic (levothyroxine) from the start (almost 2 years ago) and get it for about the price you mentioned through my insurance, though probably walmart would do it for a little cheaper, the gas I would spend to get there isn't worth it to me. But yeah, I'm sure it's a lot cheaper than the non generic and they *should* be completely the same--though maybe something about the coatings being different could cause the ame dosage to have different effects I suppose.
