Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts) Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,219 | It is very common for loose bone pieces called "spicules" to work their way out through the gums anytime after extractions. I have even had a patient have one come out as long as 20 years after an extraction is done.
