Jennie- Good luck to you both. We are still battling this monster also. During the Cisplatin and rads my husband had a positive node appear in his neck. The PET scan done before the surgery showed mets to his chest. Following the Erbitux a third PET showed a recurrance under his tongue and worsening of the nodes in his chest. I'm right there with you in the shock survival mode. He is on Taxotere now. He will have about 8 treatments before they do another PET. I'm beginning to wonder if my husband has the chronic SCC that you doctor talked about.

cg to husband, 48 Stage 1V head and neck SCC. First surgery 9/07. Radiation and several rounds of chemo followed. Mets to chest and lungs. "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain." Went home to God on February 22, 2009.
