I have many pictures of Heather showing not only the surgery, but the major swelling she had. I have ones of when her tongue was swollen and protruding 2" through her locked jaw, really gross. And others.

Depending on how soon she would need them, I would be glad to email or mail them to you. I could post them on my web page for you to see and choose which ones she would want. I would just need a little time to get them posted. I could also upload them to a site like Snapfish.

Since Heather didn't survive, her pictures may hit home a little harder. Especially if she first shows the "before", with her as an attractive young woman, then shows the "after" ones. Let me know if she wants them.

Tell her to take heart. If she does a good job presenting her report, it will shut the kids up. I did a report in 12th grade about Margaret Sanger, an early birth control advocate. Had to talk about early forms of condoms and stuff. Embarrassed the heck out of me, and got lots of remarks from the kids, but getting an A helped to shut them up.


Was primary caregiver to my daughter Heather who had stage IV base of tongue SCC w/ primary recurrence. Original diagnosis August 21st, 2002. Primary recurrence March 18th, 2003. Died October 6th, 2003.
