More important than where the cancer came from is where does one go from here on, and what is learned from the experience. Sherrie, your daughter has a great teaching opportunity and hopefully the kids will learn something! So many people just don't realize what the deal is. When I saw my dentist recently and told him about my son's cancer, the first thing he asked was "Does he smoke?" - and he looked surprised when I told him his age and that - No, he did not smoke.
Anne-Marie CG to son, Paul (age 33, non-smoker) SCC Stage 2, Surgery 9/21/06, 1/6 tongue Rt.side removed, +48 lymph nodes neck. IMRTx28 completed 12/19/06. CT scan 7/8/10 Cancer-free! ("spot" on lung from scar tissue related to Pneumonia.)
