Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 3,552 | Back in the old days, when they gave cobalt 60 and it was losing strength (i.e., they had to lengthen the exposure time), people would have horrifc skin damage that NEVER healed - just remained an oozing, weeping, open sore mess. Ionizing radiation has improved that part of it anyway although in some countries, such as India, they still use cobalt 60.
