Ok..constipation is when the feces are hard and small or where passage of feces causes difficulty or pain. The frequency varies from person to person. If severe, fecal impaction requires manual removal of the feces. Now we all know that being constipated is no joke. My husband was given Codeine and Senekot and a stool softener because the side effects of Codeine are constipation, nausea, vomiting, dizziness and drowsiness. Depending on your circumstances I would go to emergency and get help or take a laxative and a fleet enema and stay on clear fluids until I get a regular bowel movement. Or I would drink lots of hot water, coffee and prune juice also work on different people. Metamucil I was told works. Constipation maybe a reaction to the drugs you are taking...These are just suggestions, and remember I am not a doctor, just making suggestions...because I feel constipation is not a joke..hope it helps.
