John had the same types of symptoms you describe with his tube a month or so after completing treatment. When he finally went to the nurses' station to get some advice they asked if he had pulled or moved it in some way in the week or so before coming in. It turned out that by accident it had come out quite far when he was in the shower and he had pushed it back in.

No one was ever sure why it was hurting him but he was sent to a surgeon that day to have it removed - took just a couple of minutes.
