Thank you all so much. We finally had success this time. He had to cough for four days, but thank God it's out. He did have to remove his collar. I found he had not been using the saline solution as often as he should and big sister cleaned his plow for that (ever so gently, of course). I will recommend the steam shower the next go around and leaning over when he coughs. He is 2 months out from surgery. He has had horrible headaches and we were sent to a local pain clinic which suggested a nerve blocking shot that would bring relief for a few months. His wife is in the process of seeing if that is okay with MD Anderson. Have any of you had the shot? What's the opinion on it?
