A traumatic ulcer is a sore caused by some type of irritant. In my case it was caused by me being a total glutton with Hersey's Hugs. I have one of those obssesive personalities that doesn't allow me to "eat just one". So...........no more chocolates! Now, the Krispy Kremes are a whole different story. These are soft and cannot cause injury to my mouth..........I just finished eating two of them.
I agree, my family deserves this good news. It is an unparalled feeling for me when I get to call them, one by one, when I leave the doctors. Only one goes with me, the rest hold their breath at home. They have been through so much with all of this.

SCC Left Mandible. Jaw replaced with bone from leg. Neck disection, 37 radiation treatments. Recurrence 8-28-07, stage 2, tongue. One third of tongue removed 10-4-07. 5-23-08 chemo started for tumor behind swallowing passage, Our good friend and much loved OCF member Minnie has been lost to the disease (RIP 10-29-08). We will all miss her greatly.
