Dizziness is a fairly common after effect and seems to get better over time. I have a feeling it is due to blood pressure changes to the head which are a result of the newly designed neck post-treatment. Since I am not a doctor you don't have to believe me. It should get better as his body adjusts. 
Mark, 21 Year survivor, SCC right tonsil, 3 nodes positive, one with extra-capsular spread. I never asked what stage (would have scared me anyway) Right side tonsillectomy, radical neck dissection right side, maximum radiation to both sides, no chemo, no PEG, age 40 when diagnosed.
