Hi, I'm new to the site. I am the wife of a stage 4 SCC of the tonsil survivor that had spread to a lymph node. Jon, my husband is 36 and just completed radiation, chemo, and the neck dissection in March. I was 8 months pregnant when he was diagnosed back in Sept.

Our issue now, (other than cancer ofcourse) is can OR should we have another child? We've always wanted two pumpkins. Our son, who is almost 7 months old is wonderful! I know that chemo can affect fertility and possibly the child, but not likely from what I've seen. Jon's chemo doctor was not forthright on information concerning children. Considering he is of child-bearing age (HA), you would think he would've questioned us about it. Anyway, I know that this is confused a personal decision, but I'd love to hear if anyone knows someone that has dealt with this. We worry about recurrence obviously, but we also don't want that to become a deterrent to what we want out of life. Jon's radiation doctor said to wait 6 months after chemo to try. Well, we'd wait longer since I just had Evan. But....we don't want to wait too long.......do we?

Any advice or comments out there?

Ann
