Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts) Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 2,671 | My son used the Magic Mouthwash and it worked for a while and then he stopped it because it started to not help anymore. But a while later, he came back to it and it helped. So it seems that some things work at one point and then not and then later they do so it might be worth a try if this happens. My son also had good results with the lidocaine. He really liked the soda/salt solution, too. When I cooked for him I had to stay away from spices and anything with salt in it. He could even taste the salt in the low sodium soups! But it did get better after a while. So it's worth trying different things.
