I'm new here, but even before diagnosis, I found some decent air cleaners. Checked out the Sharper Image ones and read some reviews that were not kind to the product. I bought the Holmes brand that I found available at Walgreens and a larger unit at Walmart. Both of them had hepa filters included and did a fine job of cleaning the air. The larger unit, I put in the basement where I had been setting up an art studio to knock the smell of paint. The smaller unit is in my bedroom with "Family Care" on the outside of the unit. Both the large and the small air cleaners were under a hundred.

They don't have the zippy ads that Sharper Image has, but as a consumer, I must say that they did an excellent job. Although it's not scientific, I'm judging by how well odors were removed from the air. In my case, being sensitive to smells it was beneficial.

I've even purchased replacement hepa filters to get them in working order for my illness.
