Hello Friends and a special Hi to Father Mike!!

The surgery was diffucult at best. I went in at 6:30am and came out at 8:30pm. I was the lucky one, I was asleep. My poor family had to wait & wonder! They had me so drugged up I was seeing things when I woke up. The tumor was removed from my right tonsil, roof of mouth and a small amount on the base of my tongue. The surgeon said it had poorly defined margins so they cut alot out to be safe. They used my right side chest pech muscle and used it to reconstruct my throat. It is very sore. (Brian)Looks similer to your post op photo in the founders Bio. The good news is they tell me my neck lymph nodes showed no signs of cancer,
After 3 weeks of healing I will have 4-5 weeks of radation. Shed a ton of tears this last week and when I was at my lowest, the posts from this website were like a beacon in that dark room telling me I can overcome this. For that I will be foreever be thankful. I have shed a few tears writing this and have to go sleep now. I could not sleep more than I hour at a time in the hospital, I am truly exhausted. Love Dan
