Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts) Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 3,552 | When I had thrush a few months ago they gave me these Clitromazole troches to suck on every 5-6 hours or so. I had to take about 60 of them. It did the job. Diflucan works better but its hard on the liver and I have hep C. I could never stand the taste or after taste of Nystatin so I was very happy to pour it down the sink. Besides Diflucan is much more effective. I wouldn't mess around with home remedies - thrush can be fatal if it goes systemic.
