Roxicet is the generic name for Percocet and one of the minor side effects is itchy skin. Morphine is a much faster and powerful "short term" narcotic then Percocet. That's why they switched her. It's pretty standard to get Fentanyl (for long term pain management) and Morphine (for "breathrough" pain). Her pain thresholds are probably worsening - that's why she is having her pain meds adjusted. They can go up to 300 mcg on the Fentanyl is necessary. Many narcotics (including Vicodin) can cause itchiness.

I was on Fentnyl and Morphine for months.

Caution: Fentanyl is very potent and you MUST follow the directions for use very carefully.
