Hello Susie,acupuncture is quite popular here in Hong Kong and my father was also an acupuncturist when alive. However, I don't have much faith in using acupuncture in curing most of the diseases. I agree with Bob that it is not too wise to apply acupuncture while your husband is still in treatment. When it is over, you may like to give it a try when the follow up scan shows no sign of cancer cells. I did receive acupuncture for 6 months on a once-per-week basis to relieve the tingling feelings of my limbs. I felt comfortable during the treatment but after I left the clinic, I didn't feel any improvement.As for improving saliva glands, the acupuncturist told me there was little hope in my case that acupuncture could help. Maybe other people have better response. I always tell people that if the treatment is not costing much, it is worthwhile to give it a try.You may be the lucky one.
