Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts) Joined: May 2002 Posts: 2,152 | Eric, The first time I had cancer, I was dianosed by having the lymph node in my neck surgically removed and biopsied on the spot. This is what I think you are having. More accurate than a needle biopsy and you get the results immediately. I had no known primary. Neck dissection done a week later.
I also had a second neck dissection on the other side on irradiated skin, but it was done four years later. Doctor's were amazed that it went so well.
