Your father may indeed be a candidate for radiation and It may be a permanent solution for his oral cancer. His cancer may be more advanced than some but that is not a reason to give up yet. There are many people here at OCF that had a similar advanced stage of cancer and are still here. Please don't give up yet.
Mark, 21 Year survivor, SCC right tonsil, 3 nodes positive, one with extra-capsular spread. I never asked what stage (would have scared me anyway) Right side tonsillectomy, radical neck dissection right side, maximum radiation to both sides, no chemo, no PEG, age 40 when diagnosed.
