Joined: Jan 2004 Posts: 1,116 | Hi Pearl, I started with the therabite for a few months, was still drinking liquids no solid food yet, then switched to the dynasplint which is made a lot stronger than the therabite. I used the splint at least 3 times a day for like 1/2 hour at a time. That really got good results. I was renting the splint and it cost about $100 a month, so in September I felt I had gotten good enough results and sent it back and am now using the Therabite again several times a day. Your insurance might cover more of the splint rental than mine did. God Bless You, Pearl...it will get better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Diagnosed May 2002 with Stage IV tongue cancer, two lymph nodes positive. Surgery to remove 1/2 tongue, neck dissection, 35 radiation treatments. 11/2007, diagnosed with cancer of soft palate, surgery 12/14/07, jaw split. 3/24/10, cancer on tongue behind flap, need petscan, surgery scheduled 4/16/10
