Hi Bobbie, please remember there are lots of things that this could be besides cancer. It is sometimes very difficult for a medical professional to make a diagnosis by just looking, so you should try your best to not worry unless you have have a reason to worry. On the plus side you have stopped tobacco use and that is great. After your appointment with the doctor let us know what is going on. We'll rejoice for you if it is not cancer, we'll support you if you need it.

Mark, 21 Year survivor, SCC right tonsil, 3 nodes positive, one with extra-capsular spread. I never asked what stage (would have scared me anyway) Right side tonsillectomy, radical neck dissection right side, maximum radiation to both sides, no chemo, no PEG, age 40 when diagnosed.
