I just wanted to let you know my husband, 56 years old was diagnosed with stage 4 Base of tongue SCC.
He was given a 30% chance of survival.
That statement scared the stuff out of me and I regretted ever asking the question!

That was nearly 5 years ago and he is doing great... he was back to work after 6 months and is now planning on returning to England to start a new career... he is a scouser.
Just know there is lots of hope and the recovery rates are getting better all the time.
Keep you chin up .. we will send out lots of positive vibes for you and your family.
