Whatever method you use it's probably good to stick with one on a consistent basis. The digital ear thermometer is a good option. It is important to stay on top of temperature elevations because that can be a sign of infection and his immune system is weakened by the treatments. Did your medical team give you guidelines on when to call them?

My husband's tonsil cancer was also very advanced, he's stage 4 - as are a lot of people on this forum - and I am happy to tell you that he is doing well. That's great that your husband is eating more, it really helps in the recovery and controlling side effects.
