you're getting ahead of yourself here! You don't have a Dx yet and it could be something like thrush which could cause the symptoms you have got. Take a deep breath.
They always told me that, as in Eileens case, "salvage" surgery could be performed if necessary. You are seeing an ENT every 2-3 months right? Has everything been normal until now?
Sorry to hear about your wife - for some people it's to just to close to their own sense of mortality and they just can't handle it. I had some very close friends who stayed away until almost 1 1/2 years out.
