You may just have the first step in all this, which is really not a cancer yet called leukoplakia. It is a common development in spit tobacco users. It can be taken off with a laser. If left alone it is known to be able to transform into malignant cells occasionally. Sometimes if it is caught early and a person quits the use to spit tobacco, it may resolve on its own, so your doctor may want to watch it for awhile before sending you to an oral surgeon to have it lasered off......this is if this is what it is. No one over the web can tell you what you have, and you need that trained set of eyes that has seen oral cancers before to give you an opinion if you need to have it evaluated further by doing a simple biopsy. Quitting in the long run may be the most important decision you've made to date in your life. In the meantime don't beat yourself up and worry too much until you get that professional opinion. As to your oral hygiene, I suspect you
