I don't know much about lung cancer to answer your question. I do have "incurable" cancer though too(head & neck).
I'd like to give you some advice for when you see the doctor on Monday- please take your time and ask any questions you want, if they use terms that you don't really understand don't be afraid to stop them and say you don't understand something. Sometimes the doctors get so used to talking cancer that they forget not everyone knows all the terms.

You might want to bring along a tape recorder to tape the appointment, that way you can focus on what the doctor is saying instead of trying to remember everything. Even a little old fashioned boom box with a record button works just fine.

Hang in there, and remember that there are many people out there who are living with cancer and still enjoying their lives and generally doing well, like Brenda says.
