As Amy said, being scared is normal. We'll help you get through this.
I see from your profile that you were classified as Stage II. I was a Stage I and had a partial glossectomy and a modified neck dissection. I did not have radiation or chemo. So till this point our treatment has been the same.
Where on the tongue was your cancer? Mine was on the side.
You did not mention if any of your nodes were positive. This is important to know.
Please don't hesitate to ask any questions here on the forum and be sure to check the SEARCH link at the top of this page and on the home page. You will be amazed as to how much information is here.

Retired Dentist, 59 years old at diagnosis. SCC of the left lateral border of the tongue (Stage I). Partial glossectomy and 30 nodes removed, 4/6/05. Nodes all clear. No chemo no radiation 18 year survivor.
