I am very grateful to be alive and I find inspiration from so many of your stories. This is my first posting on this site. I am a 7 yr. stage 3 Nasopharynx cancer survivor as well as a 8 yr Leukemia ALL survivor. My Doctors were comcerned that my immune system was so weak from my leukemia treatments that my long term prognosis may not be terrific for my Nasopharynx cancer. I have many issues like so many of you. I was dx T2N3M0 in Oct. 1999 so I had to stop my Leukemia chemo and start my head and neck treatment,-- Radiation for 8 wks and Cisplatin and 5 FU for 2 or 3 cycles before they had to stop. To much toxicity for me to continue. Well treatment had to stop but not me I'm 51 and going strong. Like many of you I have had my share of losses. I lost my first wife to breast cancer at 34, and both parents at age 65 from lung cancer and emphysema. Today I have a beautiful wife and 3 great kids and loving every minute of it. My attitude about life has been shaped by the pain rather than the joy. It humbles me and gives me a greater appreciation of what is really important in life. I wish everyone the best and pls. contact me if you have Nasopharynx cancer.
