Hopefully this will turn out to be something other than cancer. During the past 2 weeks have you continued to drink? If so, I highly recommend stopping completely to give your sore a chance to heal. If you are using a mouthwash that contains alcohol stop using that as well. Resist the urge to touch it, just leave it alone. As you already know... any sore that has been in your mouth and has not healed on its own in 2 to 3 weeks should be checked by a professional. There's many things your spot could be besides cancer, Im hoping its nothing serious.
Best wishes with tomorrows appointment. Please let us know how you make out.
PS... Try to avoid Dr Google. Put in enough info and it will come up with a million crazy things your spot is. That only causes more stress which isnt good for anyone.
