Hello, yes, I know this is scary. Although we have not been through this exact same scenario, we have had a recurrence and we have had a biopsy in the OR.
Our ENT did the initial biopsy in his room , but really, it wasn't deep enough to tell us much. Kris then had the suspicious area biopsied in the OR under a general anaesthetic. This was to the Base of Tongue, not the Oral tongue.
Take comfort in the fact that a biopsy under anaesthetic is more extensive and reaches deeper tissue. So, you will get a definitive answer from this biopsy.
Try not to borrow sorrow from tomorrow. Keep occupied, go for walks with friends, coffee, lunch. Talk to a good friend who will listen and comfort you. Until you do know, what or If, you dealing with anything new, worry is wasted emotion. You can't change what is or is not there. Get this biopsied and go from there.
You will get through this too.

Feb '12 Ca back.. 3/8/12 total glossectomy/laryngectomy/bilat neck dissection/partial pharyngectomy etc. clear margins. All nodes negative for disease. PEG in.
March 2017 - 5 years disease free. Woohoo!
