So glad to hear that your mom tolerated the treatment well. Hopefully things continue to improve! Your mom and my dad seem to be experiencing many of the same things and side effects. My dads hair is also started to fall out and he's seeing lots of skin issues, but his chemo recipe includes Erbitux.

I know each case is different regarding open wounds, but my dads oncologist also told us that bleeding and wound breakdown occur when tumors are dying (which obv is great) sometimes these wounds also open up when there is a lot of fluid buildup, say if there's lot of swelling, it's the body's way of coping and getting rid of that fluid. My dad started chemo 4 weeks ago and has his ups and downs, but his pain and swelling has decreased dramatically. Of course there's mucositis and the wound breakdown, but it's a net benefit.
