Welcome to OCF. Im not very familiar with your type of lesion as our group is made up of oral cancer survivors and caregivers. While Im sure your situation isnt ideal, you are very fortunate you do not have cancer!

Try using the search function with typing in mandibulectomy. Thats where the jaw is removed. This should give you an idea of what you might deal with if you need that procedure. Please always keep in mind what you are reading may not pertain to your exact situation as these posts are about oral cancer patients who are facing many other health issues. One big advantage you have is you are young. That factor should help you to bounce back much faster than any other patient on this forum.

As with any surgery, get a second opinion. Remember surgeons cut and when its gone they cant put it back.
