I'm due for a check-up with my ENT next week and will ask about it, even though it's caused by the radiation of course, not the surgery.
I think I'm getting it too. The swelling was getting less but now the swollen area is harder, not so easy to indent with my fingers. I'm 7 plus weeks out. Some mornings my cheek and neck are quite puffed up but improve as the day proceeds ... I guess that part is a fluid build up.
All I can think of doing at the moment is to do the neck and shoulder exercises given me by the hospital. I'd stopped because I'm so active but figured I'd better start again.
The advice above looks good and I hope you find some more answers.
1996, ovarian cancer surgery + cisplatin and taxol. September, 2007, SCC of left lateral tongue. Excision. October, 2009 recurrence in scar tissue, T1NOMO. Free flap surgery from left wrist - neck dissection. 63 year old New Zealander. No chemo, no RT. February, 2014. New primary in left buccal mucosa. Marginal mandibulectomy, neck dissection, right arm free forearm flap. T1N0M0 but third occurrence and some areas of concern: RT started 8 April and finished 19 May.
