Kris uses Speakit. It works very well . No internet connection needed.
Just download the app. You can have it on your tablet or phone which is handy.
Missyp if your husband still has his voice box he will indeed be able to make speech. Try it yourself. Keep your tongue still and try to talk,your speech is still very intelligible.. While he has the trach tube in place using a tablet with Speakit will work well for him. Once he loses the Trach he will be able to talk, people just need to really listen.
Kris has had both a total Glossectomy and a total laryngectomy. He has a TEP, a tracheosophageal puncture, with a plastic implant to enable speech.

Feb '12 Ca back.. 3/8/12 total glossectomy/laryngectomy/bilat neck dissection/partial pharyngectomy etc. clear margins. All nodes negative for disease. PEG in.
March 2017 - 5 years disease free. Woohoo!
