OP Supporting Member (50+ posts) Joined: Apr 2013 Posts: 76 | OK--PET done last Saturday after the machine got up and running again--2 spots in hilar lymphs of lungs lit up, as expected. But in addition, there was also a bright spot on a rib. (it didn't show in CT--only in PET). Could be a result of trauma from a month's worth of coughing (due to a HORRIBLE cold). Could be...well, never mind. THen the tumor board reviewed all this and determined that we should do nothing for 2 months and then do another PET. Hopefully the rib thing will fade. There is nothing to biopsy at this point, as the PET/CT does not show any "structural abnormality". That mostly makes sense to me. And we are told that ultimately, there is no harm in waiting two months to spot treat the lymph nodes with rads.
